Moving and Handling People and Objects

Health & Safety Executive state that "Moving and handling is a key part of the working day for most employees; from moving  equipment, laundry, catering, supplies or waste to assisting residents in moving.

Poor moving and handling practice can lead to:

• back pain and musculoskeletal disorders, which can lead to inability to work
• moving and handling accidents – which can injure both the person being moved and the employee
• discomfort and a lack of dignity for the person being moved"

It is the responsibility of Registered Manager to take action to prevent or minimise the risk of injury to staff and service users. Book onto our workshop for knowledge and practical certificated training.

Emergency First Aid at Work including Basic Life Support

Care Staff need to meet CQC Regulation 18 on Staffing and Regulation 12 on Safe Care and Treatment.

Our workshop is designed to achieve these regulations.

Health and Safety at Work

Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 states that all employees must have an understanding of Health and Safety in the Workplace. We have the workshop just for you and your taff 

Medication

Appropriate training, support and competency makes care safe, high quality and consistent. On induction all providers must ensure that the employee completes training at the start of their employment. Also that this is relevant to the type of care setting they are working in and the tasks undertaken.

Our training workshop is indepth and provides the knowledge that all care staff need to provide safe care and support.

Fire Safety

Our Fire Safety workshop provides information on the precautions taken to prevent or reduce the likelihood and destruction of a fire

Our course overs fire safety measures that include those that are intended to prevent ignition of an uncontrolled fire, and those that are used to limit the development and effects of a fire after it starts

Infection Control

Infection control has never been more important than in this era of the COVID-19 Pandemic. It is not only mandatory training under CQC regulation 18 on training but it is important that that all care staff have a clear plan of keeping themselves and others safe. 

Personal Care

Providing personal care including assisting a person to have wash, shower, bath and dress is covered in our personal care training workshop.
